Hard "Baked" Eggs

        HARD "Baked" (Boiled) Eggs

I LOVE HARD BOILED EGGS!!! I have yet to Master the technique of Boiling and believe me I have tried everything, even as seen on TV “Eggies” that were the biggest Mess Ever!!!! I finally gave up and came across the most Genius Idea ever…. Bake Them!!! Yes you heard me right…Bake your Eggs in the Oven! Not only is it Super Easy, they practically peeled in one peel. Quite possibly the easiest eggs I have ever peeled in my life. Every single egg came out Perfect.

What to do:

*Place Eggs in a Cupcake pan, Pop it in the oven at 325* for 25-30 minutes and BOOM the Perfect Egg…Every Time!! Place the eggs in a bowl of ice water once they come out of the oven to stop cooking, leave then in their for like 8 minutes or so! Don’t forget to use tongs…they come out of the Oven Wicked Hot! Make extra...What ever you don't eat put in a Bowl in your fridge and have for a snack later!

Personalized Wine “Cork” Charms

Personalized Wine “Cork” Charms

I Love Personal touches and I try to add them throughout our home. I’ve been attempting to plan a Romantic Dinner for two "tough" guys...Ralph and his best friend Anthony. Crystal who is Anthony’s Girlfriend is a big time Crafter too…in fact you will see her Guest Blogging on here soon!!! She is a Cake Pop, Baby Headband making all around super Crafter and for sure will notice the little details that get put into the dinner that the guys will surely overlook ;)

I love little wine charms that distinguish each guest’s glass, although I have yet to see or purchase ones I really like. Operation Make “Wine Charms” was in full effect today. What’s better than using actual wine corks for the wine glasses! I took ONE wine cork, sliced it four times and stamped each circle with the first letter of our names *S *R *A *C. The next step was really easy as well, I took four wire circles that I had from a jewelry making kit and added small beads for a little extra detail. Put a drop of hot glue in the center and attached the Personalized Wine Cork.  EASY!! They look Super Cute and I will Surely be making these throughout the Holiday…I may buy the small stamp set so I will be able to add two initials as the Holidays will have a lot of repeat letters. These would also make a really cute gift for Friends and Family too!!

Homemade CANDY BUTTONS

Homemade CANDY BUTTONS

I LOVE Color….I LOVE Sweets!!! When I think of my childhood even my adult life it is Full of color. It’s Memorial weekend and it’s full of Family, Friends, Cookouts, and Kids! Holidays always seem to bring out my inner child….Today I decided to make a Classic Old Fashion Candy that I had as a Child, CANDY BUTTONS!! I Love those little sweet hard candy's and how they melted their sugary goodness in my mouth (Paper and all) Because lets be honest a lot of them still had the paper attached! ;)

It’s Amazing how you can make these with just the supplies you probably have in your house now! I went upstairs in the office, looked at the package of white paper (read non toxic) Grabbed a few pieces and down to the kitchen I went!

HOW TO MAKE YOU OWN:
CANDY BUTTONS

4 tablespoons meringue powder
12 tablespoons water
2/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 bag confectioners' sugar (2lb)
Ziploc baggies
Food coloring

1)      Strip your nontoxic computer paper into whatever size you want…You can get creative…I used scissors that had a decorative edge.
2)      Mix together meringue powder and confectioners’ sugar and water, mix for 8 minutes!
3)      Put icing mixture into cups add food coloring, mix
4)      Put in plastic baggies, cut end and start making Dots…EASY!!!

Have fun with it and get creative...Mix colors, make designs, Enjoy!!!

Birthday Fun

It’s Ralph’s BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!! His Birthday is on the 30th of May but we always celebrate this Weekend because it is the Long weekend for Memorial Day and it’s usually Beautiful, Perfect weather….and this year it surely is! Today was 80* and Sunny!!! Ralph had to go into work for a few hours this morning so it was actually the perfect time to pick up my Balloon order from iParty!! I bought 33 Balloons….He is turning 33!! I made a trail going through the house using 9 balloons going up the stairs into our bedroom…and but the other 24 on our bed! On each balloon I used a little weight to suspend it in the air and put 33 pictures of my Favorite 33 memories we have had together…Needless to say I was completely teary eyed all morning while going through our Scrapbooks…In the 7 years we have been together it was SO HARD to find 33 Memories out of thousands!! I finally chose 33 and wrote little messages on the backs of each one recalling how I remember the picture and so forth!!

The house is So Festive Right now!!! My mother and I cleaned the whole morning…Decorated and Baked!! The house smells delicious and Dinner is in the Oven!!! I wrapped his presents in the prettiest paper you could ever imagine and made the Doggies some Birthday Shirts!! Tonight will be Magical!! Tomorrow we will spend the day over our friends Tony & Crystals for their annual Memorial Day BBQ…Head to my mom’s BBQ on Monday and do a whole Lot of Relaxing/Yard work in between!!! Oatmeal on the Run

Oatmeal on the Run

I’m so sick of the saying “America Runs On Dunkin” Since when did it become a fad to not cook at home…When did Home Cooked meals become replaced with chain foods for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!! Not in this House…Although I can’t say we never have picked up a Pizza or Take-Out because we have. But I do Love to cook and believe Home Cooking is Better Cooking…

You never know what is going on in someone else’s kitchen or who the people even are that are making it…I’m big on cleanliness so from time to time I will write off a restaurant and never return when I see dirt and grime *Yuck! Ralph and I are busy people and Mornings in our house hold during the week seem non-existent. We are up and out of our house, sometimes never stepping foot in the kitchen.

If I had the luxury of more time in the morning I would without a doubt make myself some oatmeal and relax. I LOVE OATMEAL and so does Ralph!!

It’s a healthy Yummy breakfast that really does keep you full until lunch! The solution is here…. Baked Oatmeal on the Run. Slogan coming soon “AMERICA RUNS ON HOMEMADE OATMEAL” Do you think it will catch? Or “Repin” rather hehe ;)

Here you have it…..

SARAH with an H’s Baked Oatmeal on the Go
  •  3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 2 Organic eggs
  • 1/2 cup Apple Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup Raisins
  • 1 banana smashed
Mix all dry ingredients then and liquid ingredients....Bake for 20 min. on 350* Easy!

The Best Part about it....Because they are individual servings you can put your favorite Topping on top!!! I love chocolate but Ralph Loves Almonds and Nuts. You can add literally what ever you want...I also did some with crunchy granola and coconut YUM! The possibilities are endless!! I'm still working on the Recipe and will probably update it more as I play with different ideas and ingredients...If you have a Baked Oatmeal Recipe that you would like to share...Please Comment Below...Would love to Hear it!!! :o)

Pancake Pops

PANCAKE POPS

In our house we have Pancakes every Sunday…we LOVE pancakes. I have tried a million different variations of Pancakes but wanted to try something fun. We recently had Ralphs nephew sleep over whom is one…I wanted to do something fun with the Pancakes that I thought he would enjoy….PANCAKE POPS was a Huge hit!!! I have a Love for these Little White sticks…I have made almost anything on them, Yogurt Pops, Mini Apple Pie Pops, Cake Pops, Brownie Pops even scrambled egg pop (Yuck, not so great!) HAHAHA so you can see I have really been playing around with different things to do with them. You can purchase a bag of 100 for only a few dollars.  Even as an Adult I loved the how Yummy these bite sized circles of pancakes were, dipping them in syrup was fun. We will definitely be having these again. Here’s how to make Pancake Pops….

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup organic skim milk
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 cup all-purpose wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 organic egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted or I use Flax Seeds if I have them.
  • cooking spray
  • Sticks for the Pancake Pops (I bought mine at a local craft store for $3)

Directions
  1. Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk egg and butter into "soured" milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1 table spoon of batter onto the skillet and gently place stick in the middle, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side. I’ve made them bigger than bite size and it does work….just don’t go to big or your Pop stick will not hold up the pancake and it will just flop over!

Glow Bath

Ralph’s Nephew “Baby C” is a Big time bath Lover. So when he has Big Sleep Over’s at Auntie’s I love to plan Sensory Themed Bath’s!! The possibilities are endless and Don’t cost a lot of money. Baby C slept over on Saturday and enjoyed an Out of this World “GLOW BATH” equipped with glowing water, non-toxic shaving cream paint and Glowing Stars!! Needless to say Baby C had an absolute blast, so fun in fact he insisted on Auntie climbing in the Tub and painting with Him….Uncle Ralphie surely got a kick out of it, and Baby C Loved the fact that Auntie’s Bathing Suit Glowed in the Dark!!! (It’s a good thing we have a Jacuzzi Tub in the Master Bathroom or this wouldn’t have been pretty hahaha Baby C was officially a wrinkled prune by the time we had to drag him out, in fact we had to add warm water because the water started to get cold!! Next week Auntie Sarah will be having “Rainbow” Sensory themed Bath Time so stayed Tuned!!!
*What you need for a GLOW BATH…First you need to have a Black Light, Ralph actually had one (Maybe from his Party Days Hmmmm) although I know I have seen them at Target for around $8 dollars! Next you will need some NON TOXIC Highlighters (I actually Skipped this step because Baby C had a Boo Boo on his leg and while it is Non Toxic I didn't want to irritate it, so the Glow Water is actually from the Glow sticks) In a Few weeks I will take pics of the Glow Water so y'all can see!!) On that note when doing any projects with young children you want to be sure all the stuff you will be working with is Non Toxic!! **How to use them, I use one highlighter for the tub water (if you don't add a lot of water you can squeeze in a few drops), open up the highlighter and hold the sponge underneath the running water. Next step is to put shaving cream in a bowl, if you are using more than one color you can use a muffin tin to separate the colors. Put shaving cream in each spot and pour a little nontoxic florescent paint into each (you don’t need much to make it glow). Add a few paint brushes and stick some stars on the walls!! Ralph and I were Amazed by how cool this this looked and Baby C was completed fascinated by the glow water and paint!!

*You can follow me over on Pinterest to get more ideas on sensory themed Bath’s and Recent Blog updates HERE!!! :o)

Tonight we did the GLOW BATH water!!! Baby C had an absolute Blast!!!
