Pottery Barn Inspired Advent Calendar

Every year Ralph and I splurge on one expensive Christmas Decoration. I have come to realize that cheap decorations don't last and if we continue to improve our Christmas Decoration every year we will have quite the Beautiful collection! This year I was really torn between two... we needed more outdoor décor but I really wanted to start a new tradition with Sophia now that she is ONE!! That being an Advent Calendar! The one we would have chosen was the Personalized Pottery Barn Clothespin Advent Calendar...

BUT with a Price Tag of $149 not including shipping and Personalizing  I knew we were looking at somewhere in the $200 range! I ended up picking 2 of the Outdoor Lit LED Twig Deer because we needed more outdoor items!! As the days past I knew I still "needed" the advent calendar! That's when I got crafty! I knew I could make this and CHEAP! I sent ralph to our local hardware store and had a pine board cut to the measurement I needed! $6 dollars! Stopped at the craft store and bought clothes pins $1 had a stamp set and red/black/white paint at home and received advent bags from a BEAUTIFUL Etsy shop, Fancy That Loved $29.99! Grand total to Make this project....ready... $37 dollars!!!!! And it really is almost the same!!!!!! We adore our calendar and I know we will for years and years to come! It will be hung in a few days!! During the countdown we will read Sophia one Christmas story that she gets to open and we will have her sweet little fingers take out what ever is in her countdown advent bag!

To Do: Paint Board White, Paint Clothes Pins Black, Measure Out marks, Hot Glue and Stamp!


We have yet to hang it but you get the idea ;) I have a few touch ups that need to be made before hanging!
