KneeBees

We had a BUSY weekend!!! Baby Christian had a Big Sleepover at Auntie and Uncles {our House}! Weekends at Auntie’s usually means lots of Parks, Ice Cream, Activities, Shopping and my very best efforts to prevent the inevitable Booboo.  I have yet to send Baby C home “undamaged” he is a Walking Machine and wants to do everything himself! Yes, I’ve thought of buying him a bubble (do they sell those?!) but the reality of it is, he is ONE!  He will get bumps and bruises….BUT they can be prevent and the tears can wait till he’s hungry or tired not hurt! The solution KneeBees!!! I kid you not the Best invention ever! KneeBees sent me over some of the cutest hipster knee pads, meant for kids on the go! I have searched for something like these and believe me I have never seen another product out there quit like KneeBees knee pads! They are super soft, comfy and possibly the cutest things ever! Take a peek….

When they first arrived I was so eager to try them. I completely overstretched the knee pad thinking that Christian's Knee area was bigger than it was!! In a panic thinking I ruined them; I followed the directions and threw them in the washing machine. The Outcome: An Official GOOF PROOF product. They went back to the original size and I was able to stretch them slightly for maximum comfort. Christian does NOT like anything on him, in fact you can find him at times streaking through our home, and he LOVED his KneeBees Knee Pads!

Thank You KneeBees for sending us a goof proof product that has saved Christian from any scraped or bumped knees this weekend, it really is a first!

No More Hurt Knees at the Park... YIPPEE!

Taking a dive at Old Navy...Got right back up, no tears!

Christian wore them all weekend and today Christian wanted to wear them on his Elbows, Which is fine with us because this toddling tot is really on the move…who would have thought they would save his elbows too. I secretly love that he wanted to wear them on his elbows because now I can order the Orange and White Stripe ones for his Knees! ;)

When I have a Baby Shower …working on Project Baby in the Coming year ;) Please friends and family, Buy me KneeBees Knee Pads in every color! Go Check them out HERE or visit them on Facebook HERE!

We had a great weekend even though the weather wasn’t that great…Baby C even slept through the night! We made more glow in the dark paint, played with the doggies and debated on whether or not to go to the Zoo. So happy we opted out of that idea as we had torrential down pours an hour later….I guess the Giraffes will have to wait until after his Big 1st {Super Why} Birthday Bash!!

Look at Baby C's new hat for the Farm... It's "Corn on the Cob" you can find it HERE

One of the MANY falls he took this weekend.

Hope Y’all Had a Wonderful Weekend!!!

*I was sent this product(s) free for review purposes though all opinions are honest, if I don’t love or believe in a product you will know ;)

Blueberry Picking

Blueberry Picking

This is the First year Ralph and I have been Blueberry Picking. I can’t believe I have never done this before. We went a few weeks ago and we picked a TON of blueberry’s 6 pounds in fact! The weather hasn’t been that great so we headed their early, it’s a good thing we did.
After we spent the morning picking Blue Berries we went over to the Farm House and bought some Homemade Apple Cider Donuts, YUM! Went over to say hello to the goats…I was sad for them, a few had these big heavy chain links around their necks (why do they do this, I will have to goggle the reasoning behind that!) Took a few pictures…Then…Torrential. Down Pours!

We headed home, thankful to have picked our Blueberries rain free. That night I made our first ever Blueberry Pie…It was really good, and I don’t really like pie (other than apple!) The rest of the week we had blueberry smoothies, blueberry pancakes, frozen yogurt blueberries and just plain blueberries, which I’m not really a fan of.

Blueberry Picking will now be a yearly event, to add with pumpkin, apple, strawberry, green bean and Raspberry picking!!

Here's a delicious recipe I used for our Pie that I found online...

Ingredients:

Crust: I bought at the store, easy!

Filling ingredients:
  • 6 cups (about 2 1/4 pounds or 1 kilo) of fresh (or frozen) blueberries, rinsed and stems removed (if using frozen, defrost and drain first)
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (about 30g) all-purpose flour (for thickening)
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar (100g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp butter (unsalted), cut into small pieces
Egg wash ingredients:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
Method
1 Prepare the crust. Roll out half of the dough to 1/8-inch-thick circle on a lightly floured work surface, about 13 inches in diameter. Fit the dough over a 9-inch pie pan, and trim the edges to a 1/2 inch over the edge all around the pan. Put into the refrigerator to chill for about 30 minutes.
2 Gently mix the blueberries, sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon zest, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Transfer them to the chilled bottom crust of the pie pan. Dot with butter pieces. Roll out remaining dough to the same size and thickness as the first. Place on top of the berry filling. Tuck the top dough over and under the edge of the bottom dough, and crimp the edges with your fingers. Transfer the pie to the refrigerator to chill until the dough is firm, about 30 minutes. Heat oven to 425°F.
3 Whisk egg and milk together to make an egg wash.
4 Remove the unbaked pie from refrigerator. Brush the top with egg wash. Score the pie on the top with 4 cuts (so steam can escape while cooking). Place the pie on the middle rack of the oven with a parchment paper or Silpat lined baking pan positioned on the lower rack to catch any filling that may bubble over. Bake for 20 minutes at 425°. Reduce heat to 350°F and bake for 30 to 40 minutes more or until juices are bubbling and have thickened. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Let cool completely before serving.

                                       ENJOY!

Cape Codder

This week we played Tourist! Not that we are…I grew up going to the Cape…Taking the winding Cranberry colored road around the cranberry bog to my Grandpa’s House on the Water…Pretending I was the Captain as I would play on the Boat anchored to his Dock. The Beach…More specifically Cape Cod has been my Home away from Home.

When my Grandpa passed away I found going to the Cape was Peaceful…It held a new meaning along with memories of the past. Ralph and I have been trying to head there as much as possible this Summer. It feels like I’ve been splitting my time between two homes and let me tell you my “Real” Home is on “Operation Get Clean” this weekend. There are clothes EVERYWHERE, chargers to phones and electronics in every outlet, bathing suits hanging in the bathrooms, Sperry’s shoes strewn throughout the house, decorations still hanging from Sammie’s  (my doggie’s) 6th Birthday Party. Tutu remnants on my living room floor from a newborn order, old fruit in the fridge that needs to be thrown out! I mean I could go on and on…Bottom Line we need a maid, I need to clean!

On Wednesday a little trip to exit two led us to the “Information Center” as I pulled in just for fun…next thing you know… Welcome to Pairpoint Glass!!!

America's oldest glassworks, founded in 1837.

For well over a century, Pairpoint glass has graced the tables, cabinets and shelves of some of America's finest homes.
The Witch Ball he made us!

If you are ever on Cape Cod visit them at their Sagamore location where you can witness the artistry of glassblowing…I’ve never seen anything like it! When the owner said “Get ready it’s Hot down there” I had no idea. It was very Toasty! But Amazing to see!! All the guys were super friendly and take you on a tour, along with telling you the history and of course showing you first hand Glassblowing! I was excited right away when I was greeted by the loviest Pup ever…

He was Super Sweet and seemed like he was Loving the nice warm “weather” of the Factory!

I Don't think I will ever Look at a Simple Glass Sculpture the same way...So Complex...Who Knew!

There is always time for Tie-Dying Too!! The Creations.....

I relaxed on the Beach and assembled the Cutest Tutu’s Ever!! This order was especially awesome because it was for two little girls that wanted to Surprise a family member returning home from the Navy…and y’all know I’m a sucker for the Navy. I think it’s in our Blood…Literally. Not just the men in my Family dating way back…I also have had Aunts in the Navy. I was born in a Navy Hospital in Florida and my brother was born in a Navy Hospital in Newport (1 day earlier and he would have been born out at sea on a Navy Ship…wouldn’t that have made for an Amazing story!) Well here they are some American Tutu’s…..
When I got Home I added some White Stars to resemble the American Flag…Super Cute Right ;)
Enjoy your weekend Everyone!!! My Friday Night...Cleaning! Preparing the House for BABY...Ralph's nephew is going to Sleepover tomorrow night...Stay Tuned!

Everyone meet Carlie Alexis…She graced us with her presence on December 6th 2011.

“Are you nervous?!?  Do you think you will Die?!? Oh my god there will be a lot of blood, are you scared?! What are those machine’s beeping for, are you ok?!?”  “Is that a needle in your arm, I’m dizzy are my lips white…I need to lay down, Push Over” as I then crawl into her hospital bed. Snap some pictures of our feet and ask some more ridiculous questions. So as you can tell I am NOT the best support system.

Something Beautiful

My Song for you Tonight.

Hey now, this is my desire
Consume me like a fire, 'cause I just want something beautiful
To touch me, I know that I'm in reach
'Cause I am down on my knees.
I'm waiting for something beautiful

Dollar Store Craft

Today was super Nice Out!! I love this weather, it felt like an early fall day, nice cool breeze and not a cloud in sight….I totally took advantage of this Nice day to get outside and do some crafting!!

Oh and a Pit stop for a Nice girls lunch at Panera Bread, Oh how I love Panera.

My friend Crystal and I are going to a Craft Fair in September so we have been busy planning out our space. We want our area to be set up wicked cute but in our efforts to NOT spend a lot of money we decided to hit up the local dollar store and really put our “Craftiness” to use. One thing we needed for our table…Signs! So we picked up three picture frames and three candle holders. $2 dollars per sign = AMAZING!! I had some spray paint left over from when I made some Spring Serving Trays and Crystal picked up some Martha Stewart's Chalk board paint. So we were in business!!

What you will need:

3 Picture Frames
3 Candle Holders
Spray Paint
Hot Glue Gun
Paint Brush (for glass part on frames)
Martha Stewart ChalkBoard paint
